If a person is found guilty of unauthorized interference with a vehicle, they can be fined up to Rs. 5,000 and/or imprisonment for up to 3 months for the first offence. For subsequent offences, the fine can be increased up to Rs. 10,000 and/or imprisonment for up to 6 months. The offender can also be booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, depending on the nature and severity of the offence.
