Front Passanger w/o Seat Belt

In India, it is mandatory for all occupants of a motor vehicle, including the front passenger, to wear seat belts while the vehicle is in motion. The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and subsequent amendments make it compulsory for all occupants of a motor vehicle to wear seat belts.

If a front passenger is found not wearing a seat belt while the vehicle is in motion, the driver of the vehicle may be fined. The fine amount may vary from state to state, but it can range from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 or more depending on the type of violation.
