Driving HMV/MMV Passangers with Excess Speed

As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, driving Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) or Medium Motor Vehicles (MMV) at an excessive speed is a traffic violation and can result in penalties and fines.

HMVs and MMVs are designed to carry heavy loads and passengers, and driving them at an excessive speed can lead to accidents and endanger the lives of passengers and other road users.

If a driver is found driving an HMV or MMV at an excessive speed, they can be fined up to Rs. 2,000, and if the offence is repeated, the fine can be increased up to Rs. 4,000. The driver can also be booked under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
