Driver Mentally/Physically Unfit

As per Rule 5 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, a driver must possess a valid driving license and must be physically and mentally fit to drive. The rule specifies that a driver must not be suffering from any disease or disability that can impair his or her ability to drive safely.

If a driver is found to be mentally or physically unfit to drive, his or her driving license can be suspended or revoked by the licensing authority. The driver may also be required to undergo a medical examination to determine his or her fitness to drive before being allowed to operate a vehicle.
